The Bangalore Airport Terminal 2 is now operational. The terminal has a total area of 1,549 sq mt and has a capacity to handle 7 million passengers annually. It has been built at a cost of Rs.1,422 crore.

What is the Bangalore Airport Terminal 2?

Bangalore Airport Terminal 2 is inaugurated today by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The terminal has been built at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore and will be able to handle up to 50 million passengers annually. The new terminal has a built-up area of around 210,000 sq ft and features an international departures complex, domestic departures complex, satellite concourse, transport Hub and a shopping mall.

How to Reach the Bangalore Airport Terminal 2?

If you’re flying into Bangalore airport today, you’ll find the terminals 1 and 2 now open for business. The new facilities are much more spacious and modern, with a total of 18 check-in counters and airside amenities including a shopping arcade. There’s also a new transit lounge which can handle up to 1800 passengers at a time.

If you’re looking to reach the airport from the city, take the Mysore Road exit from the main highways. Head towards Hosur and take the Thirumala Hills Road exit. You’ll then turn left onto Thirumala Hills Road and drive until you reach Kengeri. From here, you can follow signs to either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.

The Bangalore Airport Terminal 2 offers passengers some excellent facilities. The terminal has a total of nine gates, including two international and seven domestic gates. There are also several lounges and restaurants available to passengers.
